How to use and care

1. Wash your hands and your cup.

  • Before first use and between cycles, sanitize your Fornix Disc-Style Menstrual Cup by placing it in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes and wash the
    storage pouch provided.
  • Another way to sanitize your cup is to clean all its surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth, then allow it to dry thoroughly.
  • Before inserting, wash your hands and your Fornix Cup with mild (pH-balanced), fragrance- and oil-free soap and water. Rinse it well and check that there is no
    soap residue left.

2. Insert.

  • Relax and get into a comfortable position to insert your menstrual cup. For example, you can sit on the toilet, squat or lift one leg.
  • Fold your Fornix Cup in half joining the rims that are on each side of the cup.
  • With two fingers of the other hand, spread the labia minora of your vulva.
  • With the cup still folded, insert the end of the rim (displaying the Fornix logo) into the entrance to the vagina.
  • Aim the cup towards your coccyx until the back rim of the cup is behind your cervix.

3. Tuck.

  • With your finger, push the front rim up as high as possible, so that your Fornix Cup is tucked above the pubic bone.
  • To check the positioning of your Fornix Cup, touch your pubic bone with a finger, then your cervix through the cup thin membrane.
  • When your Fornix Cup is correctly positioned, you should have the feeling of not wearing anything. Your pubic bone should be located under the rim of the cup and your cervix in the cup. If not, remove your cup and reinsert it.

4. Remove and clean after a maximum of 12 hours before reinserting it.

  • After wearing your menstrual cup for up to 12 hours, wash your hands and relax.
  • Remove your Fornix Cup by pulling the rim or stem until it is completely out of the vagina.
  • Empty its contents into the toilet or shower.
  • Rinse it in cold water, then clean it in warm water with a mild, fragrance- and oil-free soap before reinserting it.
  • Avoid removing your Fornix Cup by pulling on the thin membrane to avoid damaging the silicone.

5. Sanitize and store.

  • At the end of your cycle, wash and sanitize your Fornix Disc-Style Menstrual Cup by placing it in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes or by cleaning all its
    surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth.
  • Allow it to dry thoroughly, then store it in the pouch provided or in a well-ventilated area.

This is game changing! Tampons don't work for me as they start leaking after about 2 hours for me, no matter what size I was using or my flow level, and really did not like how much waste that created. With this disc, I can go all day without even thinking about my period. On my heaviest days, I'm able to auto-dump, which eliminates leaks in between. I highly recommend trying it out, and allowing a few cycles to really get it hang of it.

Confortable et Écologique

C’est la première fois que j’essaie un produit menstruel interne autre que les tampons. Très confortable. Comme certains avis le disent, au début j’ai eu des fuites (je pensais l’avoir inséré correctement, car je ne sentais rien), mais en fait non ! Après quelques ajustements, plus de fuite du tout ! Et toujours aucune sensation. Je suis ravie d’utiliser un produit réutilisable comme celui-ci. En plus, il est fabriqué au Québec !

Ce disque menstruel est parfait

J'adore ce disque menstruel. Ça fait un bon moment que j'explore et essaye différentes options plus écologiques, afin d'utiliser moins, voire plus du tout de produits jetables (tampons et serviettes menstruelles). J'utilise des serviettes menstruelles lavables la nuit (à mon goût, ce n'est pas très pratique pour le jour, avec les snap, le tissu qui glisse et la sensation d'être humide) et les culottes menstruelles (une bonne option, facile d'utilisation, d'entretien et absorbantes, mais dispendieuses et, encore une fois, la sensation d'humidité me plait moins). J'aurais tellement voulu adorer la Diva Cup et j'étais bien déçue que, pour moi, ça ne fonctionne pas. J'ai tout essayé, mais c'était absolument inconfortable.

J'ai découvert ce disque lors d'un marché et j'avais déjà contemplé l'idée d'acheter celui de Nixit, avant, alors j'étais bien contente de pouvoir encourager une entreprise québécoise et un produit fabriqué au Canada, en plus de pouvoir le voir et le toucher avec de l'acheter.

Dès le premier jour d'essai, en toute transparence je n'y croyais pas du tout et mes attentes étaient très basse (la Diva Cup avait tellement été une déception), mais je suis tombée en amour. J'en reviens encore pas, chaque fois, à quel point ça fonctionne bien, et ça fait 3 mois maintenant. L'insertion est tellement simple et rapide. Hop! il est en place et on l'oublie. C'est fascinant de l'enlever et voir tout le sang accumulé. Je peux le garder des heures (10 à 12 heures) et aucune fuite. Il n'est pas trop gros, facile à manipuler et plier pour l'insérer et confortable. C'est plus facile que j'aurais pensé de le glisser derrière l'os du pubis. Ça tient parfaitement en place et, avec la languette, le retirer se fait super comme un jeu d'enfant. C'est tellement efficace.

Honnêtement, je suis tellement contente. C'est la révolution que j'espérais! Je recommande!!
